In a mans world
we wake up each morning, go to work from 9-5, and as the sun sets, we kick off our shoes and relax. We show up consistently, follow the same exercise routine each each week and stick to a steady diet. This predictable rhythm fits the hormonal cycle of a man, which much like a clock, resets every 24 hours. rising in the morning with testosterone peaking and slowing down in the evening.
But women, biologically do not work this way.
A women's body operates on a completely different timeline, this being a 28-day hormonal cycle. Contrasting with the daily reset of a mans hormones, Females experience a rising and falling of their hormones throughout an entire month (estrogen and progesterone). each week brings on different physical needs, energy levels, moods.
despite these innate biological differences society still runs on the clock of the masculine cycle. Expecting women to show up and perform at the same level each day. as a result many women are lefts feeling drained, out of sync with themselves and even experiencing sever physical pain
Flow & Glow: embracing our 28-day cycle
Flow & Glow is my personal contribution that aims to support and educate women in learning about what is biologically necessary for their bodies according to the 28-day cycle. The time has come for us to move away from the male driven structure of society and work with our bodies and embrace the rhythm that defines us as women.
Living with your flows isnt just self care, it is a fundamental shift in the way we treat ourselves and live as women. By living accordingly to what our bodies need each week, it is possible to actually harness the innate power all women hold and live to our full potential.
lets start treating ourselves as women, and reclaim the way we live. One cycle at at time!
